Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry
Location: Belleville, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night shift, 12-hour shifts
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week (36 hours total)
- Unit: High risk cardiac telemetry unit
- Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Start Date: Approximately 3-4 weeks from offer, with biweekly start dates
- Floating: May float within scope to all inpatient units at both campuses
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (local radius rule: 75 miles)
- On-call: Not required
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Proficient in cardiac drip administration
- Skilled in sheath pulls
- Experienced in central line management
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system

- Unit Beds: 40 staffed beds on unit
- Facility Beds: 222 total beds
- Charting System: EPIC
- Scrub Color: Navy
- Parking: Free
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued ID required
- Criminal background check within 6 months (including statewide, nationwide, and international if applicable)
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Illinois fingerprinting required for assignments involving long-term care or rehab units
- Education verification of highest nursing degree required
- Professional license primary source verification required
- NURSYS verification required for RN license
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, including specific drug panels
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tdap (or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray (with specific timing requirements)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
- Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgements (HIPAA, confidentiality, hand hygiene, dress code, latex allergy, etc.) must be completed prior to start
- Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required and must be updated annually
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be able to meet Return to Office (RTO) restrictions of no greater than 7 days
- References: Two professional references required, preferably supervisors within the last year
- Performance evaluations may be requested but are not mandatory for extensions or per diem
- Orientation modules required for all RNs, completed through an online platform prior to start
- No pending licenses accepted; permanent Illinois RN license required for contract extension
