Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

Location: Covington, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Unit Details

• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Weekend: Included in call requirements
• Call: 1 week of backup call per month

  • Call hours: 5 PM to 11 PM Monday-Friday, 7 AM to 11 PM Saturday/Sunday
• Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
• Minimum Experience: 2 years (first-time travelers accepted)

Work Expectations

• Must work major holidays if they fall during assignment:

  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving/Black Friday
  • Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
  • New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Full compliance required to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to orientation scheduling
• Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)

Required Qualifications

• Nuclear Medicine Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
• Must have Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check completed within 30 days prior to start
• Education verification required (degree or equivalent certification)
• State license verification within 30 days prior to start
• Annual NURSYS verification (if applicable)
• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months prior to start
• Required immunizations or titers:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer or signed declination)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap highly recommended)
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start
• Flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
• Color blindness test required
• Competency exams as applicable (e.g., Dysrhythmia/EKG competency for certain units)
• Skills checklist updated within 12 months
• Verification of recent work history and clinical references required

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required for this position
• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• Floating within the facility may be required as per scope of practice
• Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance prior to start
