Job Description
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience required
- Strong Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) background
- Experience with transplant, renal, or high-acuity medical patients preferred
- Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, advanced respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC), IV insulin protocols and drips, cardiac and vasoactive drips (including titration), central line and PICC management, blood product administration, renal and liver transplant care, and post-procedure recovery (kidney biopsy, paracentesis)
- Use of EPIC charting and Pyxis medication system
- Call required and float within the organization
- Weekend coverage every other or every third weekend
Required Certifications
- Active Ohio RN License
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Advanced respiratory support (e.g., BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC)
- Cardiac and vasoactive drips management
- Central line and PICC line management
Additional Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year criminal background check, FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific codes apply)
- Education verification from accredited nursing programs (CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start
- Physical exam documentation within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer or vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer (medical exemptions reviewed)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (mask required if declined)
- Competency exams including medication/pharmacology, unit-specific competency, and dysrhythmia/EKG exam (annual renewal required)
- References: 2 professional references required, including at least one from a manager or formal leadership
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Call and float responsibilities within the organization
- Weekend coverage every other or every third weekend

This role is ideal for experienced RNs with a strong PCU or stepdown background who are comfortable managing high-acuity patients, including transplant and renal cases, and who are ready to work in a dynamic travel/contract environment.
