Job Summary

• Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Unit Focus: Renal Medical Surgical
• Typical Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Average Daily Census: 48 patients
• Unit Systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
• Shift Guarantee: 36 or 48 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Yes, within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Call Requirements: None
• Holiday Work: Required to work 1-2 major holidays if they fall during assignment
• Return to Orientation (RTO): Maximum 7 days

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check completed within 30 days prior to start
• Education verification of related degree required (can be pending with proof of processing)
• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if history of positive TB)
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap (highly recommended)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start
• Annual flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season
• Skills checklist updated within 12 months
• Medication and competency exams as required (e.g., Dysrhythmia/EKG competency for certain units)
• Color blindness testing required

• Orientation hours vary based on contract length
• Locals accepted at same rate
• Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays in compliance may result in assignment start delays
• Floating and holiday work expectations apply within scope of practice
• References and work history verification required

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least one year of Medical Surgical experience, comfortable working with adult to geriatric patients, and proficient in Epic. The role requires flexibility for floating and holiday shifts within the facility.
