Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
Shift:
- Friday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Saturday & Sunday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
Skillset:
- Extremities, Abdomen/GI, Spine/Pelvis, Chest/Thorax
- Emergency Room (ER), Operating Room (OR)
- Level 1 Trauma Experience
- Surgery/C-Arm experience
Equipment Used: GE & Siemens imaging equipment
Facility Type: Level 1 trauma center with over 30 ORs, 6 ICUs, 70+ bed ER, and approximately 700 inpatient beds
First Time Travelers: Accepted
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid X-Ray Technician license in Indiana
- Minimum 1 year of X-Ray Technician experience, including experience within the last year
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- Surgery/C-Arm X-Ray experience
Required Certifications & Licenses
- License: Indiana Radiologic Technologist license (IN license pending acceptable with ETA 2 weeks)
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
Important Notes
- Call-in policy for travelers:
- If a traveler calls in for a contracted shift and is a 0.9 FTE, they must make up the day during the pay period or add the shift at the end of the contract if unable to make up.
- For 1.2 FTE travelers, call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
- Background checks including 7 years of residence/work history, criminal, sex offender, and education verification
- Physical exam completed within 12 months of start date
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific respirators required)
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
- Color blind exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with minimum 100% score
- References: Minimum 2 from recent employment with appropriate supervisory titles
- Skills checklist and competency exams as required annually
- Completion of facility-specific orientation and compliance forms prior to start
Additional Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
- Unit competency exam required
- Various certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC)
- HIPAA and safety manual acknowledgements
- Completion of mandatory training modules prior to orientation (for applicable roles)
Summary
This travel contract position for an X-Ray Tech requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in radiology with trauma and surgical imaging skills. The role involves working in a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center with a demanding weekend and Friday shift schedule. Candidates must hold or be eligible for an Indiana Radiologic Technologist license and have current BLS and ARRT certifications. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
