Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse

Job Description

• Part-time position with a requirement to float to other ICU campuses if census drops to maintain hours.
• Prior travel experience is required; no first-time travelers accepted.
• Every Other Week (EOW) schedule is required.
• Time off requests must be submitted in advance, limited to no more than 7 days.
• Missed shifts must be made up; coverage must be found if scheduled to work during requested time off.
• On-call travelers must be able to return to the facility within 1 hour.
• Minimum of 2 years recent and consecutive ICU experience in a hospital/acute care setting required.
• Knowledge of medication scanning is required.
• Typical staffing ratio is 3:1.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
• Minimum of 2 years ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year.
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Experience in an acute care setting.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of identity and eligibility to work (I9, government-issued photo ID).
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, SSN trace, national criminal search, sex offender registry, and education verification.
• Fingerprint attestation (OH BCI and FBI) within 12 months, updated annually.
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually and after breaks in service.
• Physical exam within 12 months, updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands.
• Immunizations and titers:

  • TDAP within 10 years or signed declination.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) titers or vaccines; booster required if titers negative/equivocal.
  • Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination.
  • Varicella titer or vaccine; booster required if negative/equivocal.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually.
• Respirator fit testing prior to start and updated as needed.

Orientation & Training

• Completion of online and onsite Healthstream modules within the first week.
• Unit-specific competency exams and skills check-offs during the first week.
• Review and sign unit-specific job description and new employee packets prior to start.
• Attendance policy acknowledgment required.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be able and willing to float between ICU units as needed.
• Must adhere to strict scheduling and coverage policies.
• Must submit all required documentation and complete all onboarding steps by specified deadlines.
