Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - EP Lab & Cardiac Cath Lab
Location: York, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in invasive Cardiology, specifically in Electrophysiology (EP) Lab and Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
- Work day shifts with 10-hour shifts scheduled between 6 AM and 7 PM.
- Must be willing to stay until the last patient is cared for.
- No call, weekends, or holiday shifts required.
- Floating as needed.
- Unit includes 4 Cardiac Cath Labs and 2 EP labs with 23 prep/recovery bays.
- Procedures include complex coronary interventions, ventricular assist device (VAD)/ECMO, structural heart procedures (TAVR, left atrial appendage occlusion, PFO/ASD closure, mitral valve clipping), complex atrial and ventricular ablations, pacemaker/ICD implant and explant, cardioversion, pulmonary artery pressure sensor implantation, peripheral intervention, and pulmonary embolectomy.
- May care for COVID-19 patients.
- Tobacco and fragrance-free facility.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
- Minimum 2 years of Electrophysiology (EP) Lab experience, including experience within the last year.
- Experience in Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
- Competencies in EP Lab and Cardiac Cath Lab.
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Schedule & Work Conditions
- Day shift, 10-hour shifts between 6 AM and 7 PM.
- No call, weekends, or holidays.
- Floating as needed.
- Must be able to stay until last patient is cared for.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG.
- Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; can start with results pending if on file within 45 days.
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required; can start with results pending if on file within 45 days.
- Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required and must be finalized prior to start.
- Education verification of highest degree.
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP.
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot within 90 days)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (vaccines or positive titers)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccine or exemption/declination accepted
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (for agency only).
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually.
- Professional references: 2 required within 3 years.
- Skills checklist and performance evaluations required annually or during assignment.
- Photo for badge: professional, passport-style photo required.
Additional Notes
- Candidates will be clinically screened for fit before final manager interview.
- Return to office (RTO) maximum 7 days.
- Facility is tobacco and fragrance free; candidates should be aware.
- No prior travel experience explicitly required.
