Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit on the night shift. The role involves providing patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6. Floating within the scope of practice to lower levels of care may be required based on staffing needs.
Requirements
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Long Term Acute Care experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
Additional Requirements
Background & Compliance
- 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, including South Carolina statewide search.
- Education verification (minimum associate degree for RNs).
- E-Verify proof required.
- Drug screening within 60 days of start (10-panel plus oxycodone and marijuana).
- Physical exam within 1 year, attesting ability to meet physical demands.
- Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year if respirator use is required.
- Immunizations and health documentation:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months.
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines, positive titer, or approved exemption).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series, positive titer, or declination.
- Varicella vaccination or exemption.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declined during flu season).
- COVID-19 vaccination (dose 1 and 2 required or declination form).
Orientation & Policies
- Attendance policy: Missing more than two shifts in a 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may lead to contract review or cancellation.
- On-call policy form required for new and extending RNs in MS/Tele, LTAC MS/Tele, ICU, and ER units.
- Facility-specific orientation and documentation required prior to start.
- Photo for badge required (neck up, plain background).
Summary
This is a 13-week travel contract RN position on the night shift in a LTAC MS/Telemetry unit in South Carolina. The role requires at least 2 years of RN experience (1 year considered), ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications, and the ability to pass clinical competency tests on day one. On-call shifts and floating within scope are expected. Comprehensive background checks, health screenings, and immunizations are mandatory.
