Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
  • First-time travelers accepted only if they have 2 years ICU experience

Work Schedule & Requirements

  • Weekend shifts required (minimum every other weekend, based on unit needs)
  • Holidays required (dates determined by unit; no holiday work requests allowed)
  • On-call: No
  • Floating: Yes, within scope as needed by unit
  • Locals (residents of Guam) are not eligible for this position

Clinical Requirements

  • Experience with 1:2 patient ratios
  • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • IV therapy
  • Neurological experience
  • Respiratory/Thoracic experience

Licensure & Certifications

  • Must have Compact or Guam RN license at time of application (no pending licenses accepted)
  • Required certifications:
    • ACLS (American Heart Association provider card, digital certificate required)
    • BLS (American Heart Association provider card, digital certificate required)
    • NIH Stroke Certification
    • Conscious Sedation (required for ICU, ER, and Cath Lab)
    • TCRN preferred but not required

Additional Mandatory Certifications & Training

  • Drug Calculations and Basic Knowledge Assessment Tool (BKAT) testing onsite during orientation (pen and paper format; must pass with 80% or higher; two attempts allowed)
  • Facility-specific nursing modules (approx. 8-12 hours) including:
    • Pressure Injury Training
    • NIH Stroke Scale Training
    • Alaris IV Pumps
    • Pyxis CareFusion
  • NDNQI Pressure Injury Training Certificate
  • NPIAP Pressure Injury Checklist
  • Fit Mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year prior to start; onsite fit testing available if needed
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination with restrictions)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical exemption required during flu season (Sept 1 - June 30)
  • COVID-19 vaccination strongly preferred; declination requires facility-specific waiver form
  • 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable)

Health & Background Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year (not required by facility but required by agency)
  • Background check within 1 year including nationwide and county searches for last 7 years, sex offender registry, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG checks
  • Emergency contact form required prior to start
  • Verification of last 10 years of work history (attestations accepted if verification unavailable)
  • Two professional references required (within 3 years of start)

Travel & Onboarding Notes

  • Passport (current US passport) required at time of application
  • Travelers must plan to arrive at least one day before start date due to long travel times and time zone differences
  • Flights are not reimbursed; recruiters should include airfare costs in pay package
  • Return to Origin (RTO) requests must be approved and included in contract before start date; max 3 consecutive days and 7 total days allowed
  • Travelers scheduled through last day of contract; flights home should be booked after contract completion

Dress Code & Facility Info

  • Scrub color: Any solid color acceptable; navy blue preferred; any color jacket allowed
  • Charting system: Allscripts/Sunrise
  • Parking: Free with registration and decal from HR
