Registered Nurse - Float Pool (Night Shift)

Location: Rockford, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to work in Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke Neuro, and Step-Down ICU units. Extensive cardiac nursing experience is required.


Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state laws.
  • Document patient care according to standards.
  • Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy, including patient and family education.
  • Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance.
  • Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
  • Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and experience, escalating concerns appropriately.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (education verification required).
  • Certifications: CPR, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
  • Extensive cardiac nursing experience.

Additional Information

  • Night shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM.
