Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location

Work Schedule
- Evening/Night shifts (8 or 12 hours)
- Shift times include: 1900-0730, 2300-0730, 1500-2330
- Every other weekend rotation
- Holidays and 1 on-call shift every 6-week scheduling period
Job Description
- Provide respiratory care to patients including aerosolized medication, volume expansion, airway clearance techniques, tracheostomy care, and sputum inductions.
- Manage non-invasive ventilation, high flow oxygen therapy, and mechanical ventilation in Intermediate Care (IMC) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and evaluate patient care plans.
- Floating may be required; shifts could be assigned across multiple units or locations depending on staffing needs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Additional Requirements
- Traveler’s permanent address must be within 50 miles of the primary work site.
- Must be willing to float to different units or locations as needed.

Compliance & Documentation
- Background checks including criminal history and caregiver screening required.
- Education verification required.
- Various health and immunization documents required, including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or exemption.
- Varicella vaccination or exemption.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption.
- Drug screening required per standard clinical guidelines.
- Physical exam documentation required to meet agency standards.
- Completion of facility-specific competency exams and orientation requirements.
- Annual skills checklist and medication/pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
Certifications & Testing
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications may be required depending on assignment.
- Facility-specific telemetry exams and rhythm interpretation courses may be required for certain units.
