Job Opportunity: Dialysis Nurse (Registered Nurse)

Location: Stillwater, Oklahoma

Job Summary

A clinically competent Registered Nurse responsible for managing dialysis procedures, monitoring patient health during treatments, and providing support to patients and the healthcare team. The program is inpatient and typically scheduled on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with possible alternative schedules considered.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
• Minimum of 1 year of dialysis experience, with dialysis experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods and assist with patient mobility
• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment
• Ability to work in a noisy, high-stress environment requiring constant monitoring
• Adequate vision (correctable) and hearing to assess and administer care
• Fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination
• Ability to work in a latex-burdened environment

Job Responsibilities

• Manage dialysis procedures and monitor patient health during treatments
• Support patients and healthcare team members
• Report to RN team leader/manager
• Work cooperatively with other healthcare workers
• Supervise LPNs, Nursing Assistants, Dialysis Technicians, and students

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Valid government-issued photo ID required
• Background check within 30 days of start, covering 7 years of residence/work history, including sex offender and nationwide checks
• Drug screening (10-panel) within 1 year of start
• Current immunizations and titers required: Tdap (within 10 years), Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Flu vaccination or approved declination form required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID vaccination or approved declination form required
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Completion of required orientation and competency exams
• Professional references (2) within 3 years of start
• Skills checklist updated annually

Certifications Required

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC only
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred for ICU, ER, L&D, Cath Lab Tech, RRT (not mandatory)
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP) not required for this role

Additional Information

• Orientation includes HealthStream modules that must be completed prior to start
• Fit testing and color-blind exam will be completed onsite during orientation
• Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies and standards prior to start

Prior Travel Experience

• No explicit prior travel experience required
