Schedule

- Guaranteed Hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks

Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, with experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Clinical Skills and Competencies
- Airway Management and Suctioning:
- Endotracheal tube suctioning
- Extubation
- Nasal airway suctioning
- Oral airway placement and suctioning
- Oropharyngeal suctioning
- Sputum specimen collection
- Tracheostomy suctioning
- Medication Administration:
- Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent
- Inhaled Flolan, inhaled steroids
- Lidocaine, Nitric Oxide (INo)
- Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Xopenex
- Medication Delivery Systems:
- Aerosol setup mask and trach
- Metered dose inhaler
- Nebulizer Use:
- Handheld, T-piece, Trach collar, Ultrasonic
- Oxygen Therapy: High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
- Ventilator Management:
- BiPAP, CPAP
- Troubleshooting high pressure alarms
- Weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) interpretation
Required Background and Compliance Checks
- Criminal background check within 6 months of start (7-year search including statewide and nationwide)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM quarterly checks
- HHS/OIG quarterly checks
- Education verification of highest related education
- State-specific searches and registries as applicable
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include standard panels and be valid throughout assignment
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask testing (N95 respirators) with annual renewal
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as required
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Other facility-specific compliance documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality, hand hygiene, dress code, and regulatory education
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
- Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required, including medication/pharmacology competency
- Ability to float within scope of practice
- Must adhere to facility policies including parking and dress code
Notes
- Locals within 75 miles are not accepted for this travel contract
- Candidates with pending licenses are accepted
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
- Epic experience is a must for this role
