Job Opportunity: Pediatric RN CVICU

Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in a Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio varies by shift and patient acuity:

  • 1:1 for ICU status patients
  • 1:2 for ICU status patients
  • 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU patients

Required Experience & Certifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including Pediatric CVICU experience.
• ICU experience within the last year.
• Experience working with Pediatric patients.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Required Licensure

• License verification and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to assignment start.

Additional Requirements

• Completion of specialty competency exams and skills checklists demonstrating proficiency in pediatric CVICU nursing.
• Compliance with health and safety requirements including:

  • Immunizations: MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza vaccine (seasonal)
  • Tuberculosis screening (2-step PPD or IGRA with follow-up as needed)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or documented declination
  • Drug screening (12-panel) within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
  • Fit testing for respiratory protection
• Background checks and employment verifications as per healthcare regulations.
• Completion of onboarding education and competency attestations related to pediatric CVICU care.
• Maintenance of professional references and submission of a current resume/profile.
