Job Description

• Shifts available: 36 or 48 hours
• Targeted patient ratio: 1:2 in a 36-bed unit
• Unit involves working with telemetry, drips, and ventilators
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Floating may be required to other nearby campuses within 15 miles
• Must be available to work every other weekend and holidays
• First-time travelers are welcome
• Overtime paid after 48 hours on 48-hour contracts

Required Experience & Skills

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with arterial lines (A-Lines), sheaths, and drawing arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)

Summary

This is a travel Registered Nurse position in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit requiring at least 1 year of CVICU experience, strong critical care skills, and EPIC experience. The role involves working 36 or 48-hour shifts with a 1:2 patient ratio, floating to nearby campuses, and requires multiple certifications and competency exams. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory.
