Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech

Location: Dayton, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Must have open heart experience.
• Flexibility to work across all surgical service lines including general, gynecology, vascular, urology, podiatry, orthopedic, and spine.
• Shift: Days, 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each.
• On-call requirement: 1 day per week and every 4th weekend (Friday 3pm to Monday 7am).
• Certified Surgical Technologist preferred but not required.
• Team will float between two hospital campuses.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school graduate or GED required.
• CVOR Technologist with 10 years of experience.
• CVOR Technologist experience within the last year.

Certification & Licensure

• Current BLS certification.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) through one of the following:

  • Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist (CAAHEP accredited program and national exam)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)

Additional Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, national sex offender registry, and other standard screenings.
• Drug screening with a 9 or 10 panel including marijuana; medical marijuana use is not accepted.
• Physical exam within 2 years indicating fitness for work and free of communicable diseases.
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B, and flu vaccination or approved exemption.
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray; annual TB questionnaire if past positive.
• Various competency exams and certifications may be required depending on unit assignment.
• Two professional references within 2 years, including at least one manager/supervisor or charge nurse.
• Skills checklist updated annually.
• Employment application or current resume required.

Work Environment & Conditions

• May be required to float between different hospital campuses.
• Call schedule includes weekends and evenings.
• Employer reserves the right to cancel shifts or contract with notice.

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• Must be flexible to work multiple surgical specialties beyond open heart.
• Certified Surgical Technologist credential is preferred but not mandatory.
