Registered Nurse - Oncology (Travel/Contract)
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in Medical-Surgical (MS) and Oncology nursing for a mixed acuity PCU and MS unit. This is a travel/contract assignment focused on Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and oncology care, including chemotherapy administration.

- Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL)
- Acute Myeloid Leukemia (Adult)
- Amyloidosis
- Aplastic Anemia
- Chronic Leukemia
- Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL)
- Chronic Myeloid (Myelogenous) Leukemia
- Hodgkin's Lymphoma
- Multiple Myeloma
- Myelodysplastic Syndrome
- Myeloproliferative Disorders
- Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
Special Procedures / Unit Details
- Autologous Transplants (patient’s own stem cells)
- Syngeneic Transplants (stem cells from identical twin)
- Allogeneic Transplants (stem cells from sibling, parent, or unrelated donor)
- CAR-T Therapy
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) experience, including experience within the last year
- Oncology nursing experience
- Medical-Surgical nursing experience
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Oncology Certified
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Central line blood draw experience
Required Certifications
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
Required Skills
- Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Use of Rapid Response Teams
- Feeding tube care and management
- Blood product administration
- Peripheral line care and management
- PICC line management
- Nasal cannula oxygen administration
Required Background and Compliance Checks
- 7-year criminal background check including FBI and state fingerprinting (BCI/FBI) within 90 days of start
- Education accreditation verification from an accredited nursing program
- Drug screening (10-panel) within 3 months of start
- Various monthly and annual federal and state compliance checks (e.g., EPLS, HHS/OIG)
- Physical exam documentation within 1 year of start
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers
- Hepatitis B vaccination or titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season
Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam prior to start
- Unit-specific competency exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam within 1 year of start and annually thereafter

- Two professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership)
