Registered Nurse - ICU
Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 2 months
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse for an ICU travel contract position.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience working in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Additional Certifications (may be required depending on assignment)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – required for ER
- Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (NRP) – required for Labor & Delivery and NICU RNs
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) – required for ER and Behavioral Health
- NIH Stroke Certification – required for ER and specific hospital units
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check (updated annually or if no assignment within last 90 days)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Signed System Access and Confidentiality Agreement prior to start
- Influenza and COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption documentation as applicable
- Annual respirator fit testing (Fit Mask)
Health and Safety Requirements
- Immunization documentation or exemption for measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella (per standard guidelines)
- Influenza vaccination documentation or declination form (not required for employment but recommended)
Experience
- Specialty: Registered Nurse – ICU
- Years of experience: Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience
- No explicit prior travel experience required
This position requires compliance with all listed certifications, background checks, health screenings, and documentation prior to start.
