Job Description
Seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a travel contract position. Candidates must meet all credentialing and compliance requirements prior to submission.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
- Minimum of 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Additional Certifications (may be required depending on unit)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – required for ER (verify if applicable)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – required for Labor & Delivery and NICU (verify if applicable)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) – required for ER and Behavioral Health units
- NIH Stroke Certification – required for ER and specific hospital units
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check (updated if no assignment within last 90 days)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Signed System Access and Confidentiality Agreement prior to start
- Annual respirator fit testing (Fit Mask)
- Influenza and COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption forms (facility-specific)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Documentation or exemption for influenza vaccination (medical/religious)
- Documentation or exemption for COVID-19 vaccination (medical/religious)
- Immunization or titer documentation for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella (not required by client but may be collected)
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse – ICU
- Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year ICU experience within the last year
- Prior travel experience: Not required
Notes
- Candidates must complete assigned Healthstream courses during orientation, including glucose testing competency if applicable
- All documentation must be current and uploaded as required before start date
