Description

Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Technologist

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 7:30 PM – 6:00 AM
- Saturday: 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM
On Call/Weekend: No on-call required; weekend shifts are scheduled
Float Requirement: Float within the department as per competency
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
Recent Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
Valid ARDMS certification
Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted)

Additional Requirements

Two positive supervisory references supporting at least two years of experience within the last three years
Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
Criminal background check within 90 days of start, including multi-state searches
Drug screen within 90 days of start (does not include marijuana)
Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
Negative TB test or chest x-ray within the last year, with annual updates if applicable
Documentation of immunizations or titers for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
N95 fit test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)

Certifications & Competencies

BLS (Basic Life Support) required
ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, and other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (review unit-specific requirements)
Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and other specialty-specific tests may be required

Notes

Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
Local travel radius within 60 miles of the facility
Facility-specific orientation and safety training modules must be completed prior to start
Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function

This position is ideal for ultrasound technologists with solid inpatient experience looking for a travel contract in the Washington, DC area with evening and weekend shifts.
