Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) - Temp Position

Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

An Occupational Therapy Assistant supports Occupational Therapists in delivering therapy treatments aimed at improving patients’ mobility and physical health. Key responsibilities include:

Assisting patients with exercises and treatment plans
Monitoring patient progress to ensure successful completion of treatment
Encouraging patients during their recovery process
Helping patients improve quality of life by addressing their challenges
Assisting injured employees in regaining motor skills to return to work
Teaching patients with disabilities to increase independence
Updating patient records for the Occupational Therapist
Maintaining the cleanliness and order of the office, treatment room, and equipment
Educating patients, family members, or caregivers on skills and techniques to support treatment programs

Required Qualifications

COTA license required
CPR certification required
Minimum 2 years of Occupational Therapy experience preferred
Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation preferred

Additional Information

Dress code: Scrubs
Facility is not located inside a hospital and does not belong to a continuing care community

No prior travel experience requirement specified.
