Job Opportunity: Hospice Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Provide, coordinate, and direct home nursing care according to physician orders and agency policies.
• Supervise and evaluate Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses.
• Conduct home visits with periodic office meetings.
• Average patient load: 5-8 patients per day.
• Types of cases include Start of Care, Wound Care, Follow-up Visits, etc.
• Must have reliable transportation, a current driver’s license, and agency-required liability insurance.
• Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from the home clinic.
• Local candidates accepted within the same rate area.

Schedule & Work Details

• Typical hours: 8 AM to 5 PM.
• Some positions may follow a 4x10 schedule (Friday-Monday), but most are standard 5x8 (Monday-Friday).
• Weekend rotation and on-call requirements vary; discuss during interview.
• Participate in established on-call rotation sharing weeknight and weekend coverage.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum of 1 year of recent hospice experience within the last year.
• Experience working with adult patients in a home health or hospice setting.
• Proficiency with OASIS documentation.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Additional Information

• Dress code: Scrubs.
• Mileage reimbursement applies for travel between patient homes (commute to/from first and last patient is not reimbursed).
• Territory covers Horry and Georgetown counties, with primary focus on Horry County areas including Myrtle Beach, Carolina Forest, and Murrells Inlet.
