Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - MS/Tele
Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele)
- Shift: Nights
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Required to float within scope to meet facility needs between like units
- Block Scheduling: Open to accommodating
- Locals: Not accepted (50-mile radius rule)
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
- Contract Limit: Maximum of 2 contracts (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning
- First-time travelers accepted
Required Experience & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Licensure
- Must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina
- License must be current and not expiring the month of start

- Short-term acute care hospital
- Level III Trauma Center
- Teaching hospital
- Total staffed beds: 733
Additional Requirements
- Background check required within 6 months of start
- Physical exam required within 1 year, updated annually
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination)
- Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines)
- Seasonal flu vaccination required year-round (exemptions require facility approval)
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required and must be renewed annually
- Pass/Fail testing on EKG/medication knowledge required for certain units
- Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be reviewed and signed prior to start (e.g., confidentiality agreement, job description, code of conduct)
- Professional appearance standards apply (photo for badge required)
Scheduling & Work Conditions
- Guaranteed hours with a call-off policy of 2 shifts per 13-week assignment
- No on-call requirement
- Floating between similar units within scope of practice is expected

- Candidates must provide interview availability upon submission
- Candidates must comply with all facility-specific onboarding and compliance requirements prior to start
