Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana

Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 3 years of specialty experience, including at least 2 years in Level I Trauma. This role requires flexibility to float within the scope of practice to meet unit needs and includes call and holiday shifts.
Key Details

- Required Experience:
- Minimum 3 years as an RN in specialty
- At least 2 years Level I Trauma experience required
- Call Requirements:
- 6 call shifts in a 6-week period (can vary)
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Scheduling: No block scheduling
- First Time Travelers: Accepted
- Local Candidates: Accepted
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
- Pending License: Not accepted; must have Indiana state license and required certifications in hand before start
Unit Information
- Core 3 & 4 units include General Surgery, Plastic, Gynecology, ENT, Trauma, Neuro, Orthopedics, GU, Colorectal Robotics
- Average daily census: 70-80 patients
- Number of OR rooms: 21
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or RQI accepted
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or RQI accepted
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or RQI accepted
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA only
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - as applicable
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Minimum 3 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam completed within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific respirators approved)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (strongly recommended)
- TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON, or T-SPOT) within 1 year
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- Color blindness exam (Ishihara or equivalent)
- Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Education verification and transcript/diploma required
- Skills checklist and competency exams required annually
Additional Information
- Must provide 2-3 days of interview availability when submitting candidates
- Scrub color and parking provided at no cost
- Charting system used: Cerner
- Must complete facility-specific orientation and compliance documents prior to start
- Candidates must complete mandatory online modules prior to orientation (22 modules total)
- References: Minimum 2 from recent employment with supervisory titles required
Notes
- This position is exempt from the Indiana RN work restriction effective 11/30/2024 for perioperative and ambulatory RN travelers.
- Locals within Indiana are accepted but may have different pay considerations (not included here).
- On-site fit testing is limited and must be approved if required.
