Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a 42-bed Medical Respiratory Unit specializing in acute and chronic respiratory conditions such as pneumonia, shortness of breath, COPD, and other lung diseases.
• Care for medical patients with GI issues, diabetes, occasional stroke, and surgical patients.
• Participate in daily interdisciplinary team rounds.
• The unit includes an 8-bed respiratory step-down area with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Nurses have a 1:6 ratio on the main unit.
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals.
• Work schedule includes 36 or 48 hours per week, holidays as required, and every other weekend.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med Surg / Telemetry within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

• This is a patient-facing, clinical position.
• Electronic Medical Record system used: Meditech
• Dress code: Solid navy scrubs
• Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
