Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Specialty: General X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
• Shift: Friday to Monday, 9-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 5:30 PM) with a 30-minute break
• Facility Type: Level I Trauma, Teaching Hospital, Children’s Hospital, Short-term acute care
• Daily caseload includes patients of all ages: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics
• Work areas: Outpatient, Inpatient, Operating Room, Emergency Room, Trauma and Resuscitation areas
• On-call requirement: Yes, 12-hour call shifts possible
• Floating: May be requested to cover alternative shifts within scope
• Locals: Not accepted within 100 miles radius
• Pending state license accepted
• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours/week (facility may call off up to 3 times during a 13-week assignment)
• Block schedule: Not accommodated

Required Qualifications

• Valid X-Ray Technician license in New Mexico
• Minimum 1 year of X-Ray Technician experience within the last year
• ARRT certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Additional Information

• First-time travelers accepted
• New contracts and extensions must be at least 10 weeks
• A 6-month break is required after 4 consecutive assignments or 1 year of cumulative work, whichever comes first
• Facility uses Cerner for charting
• Parking available at no cost
• Scrub color: Hunter Green
• Overtime applies after 48 hours worked (for contracts signed on or after 10/30/2025)
• Facility is not near public transportation; candidate must have reliable transportation

Important Notes

• Candidates must bring original New Mexico license onsite for verification
• Fingerprinting is required onsite during orientation; candidates who have completed fingerprinting within the past 12 months may be exempt
• Facility requires completion of various competency and pass/fail tests; failure to pass may result in cancellation
• Some certifications and training may be completed onsite if not obtained prior to start
• Facility-specific compliance forms and training must be completed prior to or during orientation

This position is ideal for Radiology Technologists with at least 1 year of experience who are comfortable working in a high-acuity Level I Trauma and Children’s Hospital setting, with flexibility for on-call shifts and floating within the facility.
