Registered Nurse - Cath Lab
Location: Portland, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work hours: 0700-1730
- Experience in a Pediatric Cardiac Cath Lab required
- Minimum 2 years total Critical Care or similar experience (PACU, ED)
- Knowledge/experience with moderate/conscious sedation administration and recovery, anesthesia recovery
- Experience with arterial and venous femoral access/sheath management
- Knowledge/experience with safe chemotherapy precautions
- Fast-paced procedural environment with competing priorities and quick patient turnover
- Ability to stand up to 4 hours without sitting
- Ability to wear protective lead aprons for extended periods
- Ability to move throughout entire shift
- Must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation
- Communication skills including fluency in written and oral English
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year
- Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current NRP certification
- Experience working with pediatric patients
- Knowledge and experience related to moderate/conscious sedation administration and recovery, as well as anesthesia recovery
- Knowledge and experience related to arterial and venous femoral access and sheath management
- Knowledge and experience related to safe chemotherapy precautions
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid government-issued photo ID required on first day
- Background check within 6 months of start (includes education and work history verification)
- National Sex Offender Search within 30 days prior to start
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel with methamphetamines listed, within 3 months prior to start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (Aya standard)
- Fit mask testing within 1 year prior to start (specific mask types required)
- Immunizations and/or titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (or signed declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- TB questionnaire required for all candidates
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: immune titer, 2 vaccines, or signed declination
- Hepatitis B: full vaccine series, immune titer, or signed declination
- Varicella: immune titer, 2 vaccines, or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required by 12/01/2025
- Two (2) manager or supervisor references from the last 24 months required (direct supervision)
- Employment application must include at least 7 years of work history with city and state for each position
Additional Notes
- Radiation badge (dosimetry) required prior to start for Cath Lab RN
- Must complete facility-specific training modules prior to start (e.g., privacy, harassment prevention, and others)
- Must review and sign professional appearance policy, job description, coronavirus protocol attestation, and vaccine declination/waiver forms if applicable
- Facility requires full availability for compliance needs up until start date
- Must be able to complete medication override test after start (not required before start)

- Ability to tolerate wearing lead aprons and standing for extended periods
- Ability to move throughout the shift
