Description

Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist

Location: New Haven, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Two 12-hour shifts (7:30 AM - 8:00 PM)
  • Two 8-hour shifts (either 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM)
  • Bi-campus coverage (coverage across two campuses)

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Connecticut
  • Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
  • Active ARRT Radiography (ARRT R) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active state license required prior to start
  • ARRT Radiography certification
  • BLS certification (AHA or ARC only)
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) – verify based on assignment
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and education verification required
  • Foreign equivalency evaluations required for internationally educated candidates

Compliance & Training Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 12 months, updated annually (clean shaven required)
  • Immunizations and titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap (highly preferred for some specialties)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation required
  • Drug screening (10-panel) within 12 months
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
  • COVID vaccination series preferred
  • Multiple facility-specific training modules and attestations required (e.g., Stroke Education, CLABSI Prevention, Pressure Injury Prevention, Language Services, Suicide Risk Assessment, Pyxis MedStation, Baxter Pump Training, Patient Bedside Rounding, Ventricular Assist Device Awareness, Blood Administration, New Employee Orientation, 21st Century Cures Act, ED Handbook, eCart Training, Chaperone Policy)
  • EPIC testing or training may be required depending on prior experience and unit assignment

Background & History Requirements

  • 7-year work history with no gaps greater than 90 days
  • Employment verification for last 7 years required
  • One supervisor reference within the past year required for certain ICU assignments (not charge nurse references)
  • Skills checklist required within 12 months of start
  • Attestation of prior radiation exposure required for this role

Additional Notes

  • Guaranteed hours
  • No on-call required
  • Restrictions on time off (RTO > 7 days requires approval)
  • Color blind testing required for all candidates starting on or after 8/2/2024
  • Candidates must be willing to float between campuses as needed
