Registered Nurse (OB)

Location: Uniontown, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

Seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in labor, postpartum, and newborn nursing care. The unit includes triage, labor/delivery/recovery (LDR), postpartum, newborn nursery, and continuing care nursery beds.

Unit Details

• Beds:

  • 4 Triage
  • 5 Labor/Delivery/Recovery (LDR)
  • 11 Postpartum
  • Newborn Nursery
  • 3 Bed Continuing Care Nursery
• Nurse-to-patient ratios:

  • Labor: 1:1
  • Postpartum Couplets: 3:1
• Common patient types: Low risk, 36 weeks gestation and above
• Charge Nurse and House Supervisor coverage 24/7
• Nurse Care Assistants (NCAs) and scrub techs available 24/7
• No telemetry; RNs read fetal heart strips for C-section recovery
• CPAP equipment available for infants in Continuing Care Nursery with Neonatal Nurse Practitioner coverage

Scheduling

• 12-hour shifts, rotating day/night
• Self-scheduling available
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• Holiday requirement: every other holiday
• No call or standby required
• No floating required

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM)

Required Skills and Experience

• Labor, postpartum, and newborn nursing care
• Ability to titrate drips (e.g., Pitocin)
• Must be able to read fetal heart strips

Additional Information

• Must submit a copy of an unexpired driver’s license with application
• Any professional license issues must be disclosed at time of submission

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Pennsylvania
