• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Weekend Requirement: Yes, on a 3 out of 6 week schedule
• Float: Yes, within scope to IMCU and ICU units
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (75-mile radius rule)
• Pending License: Not accepted
• Guaranteed Hours:

  • 36 hours/week for 3 shifts of 12 hours
  • 48 hours/week for 4 shifts of 12 hours
• Special Skills Required:

  • Assist with line insertion and intubation
  • Hypothermia protocols
  • CRRT / CVVHD
  • IABP

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with hypothermia protocols
• Experience with CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) / CVVHD (Continuous Venovenous Hemodialysis)
• Experience with IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)

Additional Requirements

• References: Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
• Competency Exams: Unit-specific competency exams required and must be updated annually
• Skills Checklist: Unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start
• Orientation: Completion of required orientation modules through online platform (approx. 16 hours)
• On-Call: Not required
• Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
