Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU
Location: Bend, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Job Details

- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Yes, within scope to Med/Tele, PCU, ED Boarding
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (75-mile radius rule)
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Return to Office Restrictions: Maximum 7 total days in 13-week assignment
Required Certifications
- ACLS (AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI acceptable)
- BLS (AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI acceptable)
- NIHSS
- Level II Trauma skills
Required Background Checks & Verifications
- 7-year criminal background check (including SSN trace, counties lived/worked/school, FACIS L3, DOJ sex offender search, nationwide check)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check
- HHS/OIG check
- Education verification (highest level) with diploma or transcript on file
- Primary source verification of state license
- NURSYS verification for RN license
Required Health Documents
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Immunity or vaccination for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (positive titer required, vaccine series alone not accepted)
- Varicella
- Negative 12-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or agency declination/exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID vaccine preferred but not required; declination or exemption required if unvaccinated
- Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, required annually
Additional Requirements
- Skills checklist required annually
- Photo for badge (passport-style, solid background) required within 48 hours of signing and no later than 2 Wednesdays prior to start
- Several facility-specific agreements and attestations must be reviewed and signed within 48 hours of signing and no later than 2 Wednesdays prior to start
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oregon
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with PCU experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIHSS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
This position requires a Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of experience, current RN license, and specific certifications including ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. The role involves floating within related units and requires compliance with comprehensive background checks, health screenings, and facility-specific documentation.
