Description
Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Varies anytime between 7 AM - 5 PM
- Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Cardiac only department)
- Average Daily Case Load: Approximately 10 cases per day across 4 SPECT locations and 1 Cardiac PET department
- Rotation: Techs rotate through all locations and help cover weekends and holidays
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
- Call Requirements: Occasional weekend call during the day (7 AM - 5 PM on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays)
- Holiday Work: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during the assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
- Floating: Within facility and scope of practice as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist within the last year
- ARRT (R) or ARRT (N) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Additional Requirements & Compliance
- Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start
- Education Verification: Degree verification required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
- Physical Exam: Required within 12 months prior to start
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start
- Immunizations & Health Documents:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- TB questionnaire updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
- Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season
- Competency Exams:
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
- Other competency exams as applicable per specialty and facility policy
Work Environment & Expectations
- Orientation: Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Dress Code: Professional appearance required (specific dress and appearance policies apply)
- Code of Conduct: Must review and sign prior to start
- References: Two clinical references required

- Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
- Candidates must be able to work within the scope of practice and rotate through multiple locations within the department.
- Full compliance with all credentialing, background checks, and health requirements is necessary to start on time. Delays in compliance may result in assignment start date being pushed back.
