Location: Greenville, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Respiratory Therapist with at least 2 years of experience, specializing in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics. The position involves working primarily with adult and geriatric patient populations in critical care settings.
Work Schedule
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: May be required to float to other units or campuses where qualified and competent
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Trauma Level 1 experience required
- Proficient in Adult Critical Care
- Skilled in extubation, nasal and oral airway placement, suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care
- Experienced in administering respiratory medications including albuterol, Atrovent, combivent, flovent, inhaled steroids, lidocaine, pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, spiriva, terbutaline sulfate, tobramycin, xopenex, and others
- Competent in delivering medication via aerosol setup mask, trach, Medihaler, and Metered Dose Inhaler
- Experience with handheld, T-piece, and trach collar nebulizers
- Skilled in high flow nasal cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy
- Knowledgeable in BiPaP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Must have at least 1 year of experience with EPIC charting system
Licensure & Certifications
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license for South Carolina required (no pending licenses accepted)
- Required Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
Additional Requirements
- Accepts first-time travelers (no prior travel experience required)
- Must comply with facility call-off policy (allowed 1 call-off shift per 2 weeks)
- Must submit all scheduling requests at time of submission for approval
- Must carry a valid driver’s license for computer access setup and while on duty
- Floating to other units as needed, limited to qualified areas

Compliance & Documentation
Candidates must provide and maintain the following:
- Proof of identity and eligibility to work (I9, Driver’s License/State ID)
- Background checks including 7-year history and various federal/state screenings
- Education verification and licensure primary source verification
- Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and health documents including TB test, flu vaccine or exemption, Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and drug screening
- Annual competencies and training including medication/pharmacology competency exam, core safety training, and any required unit-specific certifications
- Badge photo meeting facility standards
- Completion of required online orientation modules and pass/fail testing prior to start
Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in South Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
- Current ACLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- Experience working with adult patients
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- Experience with handheld nebulizers and trach collar nebulizers
- Skilled in high-flow nasal cannula therapy
- Proficient in BiPAP and CPAP use
- Ability to troubleshoot high pressure alarms
- Experience with EPIC charting system
Notes
- The facility prioritizes keeping staff in their home unit but requires agency staff to float as needed.
- Candidates must be prepared to complete online modules and pass required testing before starting.
- All certifications must be current and cannot expire within 30 days of the assignment start date.
- The position requires compliance with all facility-specific policies and documentation requirements.
