Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location: Warren, Minnesota
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Must be comfortable floating between Medical-Surgical and Emergency Department units
• Requires 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
• Minnesota RN license required (must be in hand)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required and must be kept up to date during the contract

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Minnesota
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) experience
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks within 1 year, including SS Trace, County searches, Nationwide, and Sex Offender registry
• Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific protocols for past positives)
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (titer, vaccine, or history of chickenpox)
• 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption

Additional Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required for all RNs
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
• Emergency Contact Form required prior to start
• Must complete fingerprinting within 2 weeks of registration via Minnesota DHS Net Study process (fingerprinting required by Minnesota law before starting work)

• 2 professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles
• 1 professional reference required for per diem non-acute care roles

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Floating between Med Surg and ED requires flexibility and adaptability
• Fingerprinting and background clearance are strictly enforced by Minnesota state law and must be completed before starting the assignment

This position is ideal for experienced RNs licensed in Minnesota who are comfortable working in both Med Surg and Emergency Department settings and who meet all state and facility compliance requirements.
