Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Specialty: Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular


Job Details

  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day shift (0615 - 1645)
  • Specialty Focus: Cardiovascular with extensive experience required; experience in Robotics, General Surgery, Orthopedics, and other specialties is also valued.
  • Call Requirement: Cardiovascular call required
  • Experience Required: Minimum 3 years of specialty experience
  • Travel Experience: Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted

Important Notes

  • This position is located in an area commonly impacted by hurricanes. During hurricane season (June 1 - November 30), you may be assigned to an Emergency Team with expectations to stay onsite until the storm passes or be part of relief efforts. Candidates uncomfortable with this should not apply.
  • Candidates must be prepared to report as assigned by their unit manager in the event of a storm.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
  • Minimum of 3 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including OR experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Cardiology experience

Additional Considerations

  • Candidates may be required to complete onsite fit testing for N95 masks if not completed prior to start.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification may be required depending on unit assignment; not required for ICU.
  • Candidates must be comfortable with potential emergency assignments related to hurricane preparedness.
