Description

Registered Nurse - PCU

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

May be assigned to an "Emergency Team" during emergency events, requiring staying at the facility until the event passes or joining a relief team.
Patient diagnoses include migraines, seizures, chest pain, spinal abscesses, multiple sclerosis, upper respiratory infections, post spinal surgery, and post stroke care.
Patient ratio expected: 1:4 or 1:5.
Unit accepts first-time travelers.
Epic electronic health record experience required.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana.
Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Additional Information

Weekends coverage: every other weekend (4 weekends per 13-week contract).
Employment application and skills checklist required, with explanation for any employment gaps.
Must be comfortable with emergency event assignments as described.

Prior Travel Experience

Not required; first-time travelers are accepted.
