Description

Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist

Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM


Job Description

  • Provide radiation therapy services.
  • Must be willing to float to other units or campuses as needed, performing only tasks for which competencies have been demonstrated and documented.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiation Therapist license in South Carolina
  • Minimum of 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience
  • Radiation Therapist experience within the last year

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of identity and eligibility to work (I9, Driver’s License/State ID).
  • Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and others as required.
  • Drug screening within 1 year, updated annually.
  • Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands.
  • Immunizations and health screenings including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if working in high-risk areas)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B documentation or exemptions
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (not required for remote workers)
  • Respirator fit test to be completed onsite during orientation.
  • Education verification and licensure primary source verification within 30 days of start.
  • Completion of online orientation modules and pre-assignment testing within 72 hours of assignment.
  • Badge photo meeting specific requirements.
  • Annual competency exams and training (Core Parts I, II, III; medication/pharmacology competency; pass/fail testing for medication and arrhythmia as applicable).

Additional Notes

  • Floating policy requires staff to be flexible to work in different units as needed.
  • Certification expiration dates must not be within 30 days of assignment start.
  • Some certifications and trainings may be required after 365 consecutive days of employment in certain units.
  • Candidates must complete required online orientation modules and pre-assignment testing prior to start.
  • Drug testing includes a 5-panel screen covering marijuana, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines, and benzodiazepines.
  • Facility is latex-free; candidates with latex allergies are acceptable.

This position requires strict adherence to compliance, documentation, and training requirements to ensure readiness and eligibility for assignment start.
