Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Day/Evening, 8 or 12-hour shifts (07:00-15:30, 07:00-19:30, 15:00-23:30) with every other weekend required

Job Summary

Seeking a Respiratory Therapist with experience in both pediatric and adult patient care. The position requires working in a high-acuity environment similar to an Academic Level 1 Trauma center.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Wisconsin (WI RCP)
• National Board for Respiratory Care Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC) credential
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with both pediatric and adult patients
• Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center or a hospital of similar size and complexity

Additional Requirements

• Must complete various background checks including criminal, employment, and education verifications as per state and facility standards.
• Compliance with Wisconsin state-mandated caregiver screening and BID form completion.
• Completion of required competency exams and facility-specific orientation/testing (e.g., telemetry tests if applicable).
• Up-to-date immunizations and health documentation including:

  • TB testing and questionnaire
  • MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B vaccination or approved exemptions
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
  • Other vaccines as required by department (e.g., Meningococcal for Microbiology)
• Drug screening as per clinical standards.

Work Environment

• Shifts include day and evening hours with 8 or 12-hour options.
• Every other weekend coverage is required.
• Facility operates at a high level of care consistent with a Level 1 Trauma center.
