Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)

Location: Greenwich, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• 4 days per week, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Call 1-2 times per week until 8:00 PM
• Weekend call coverage every 2nd or 3rd Sunday, 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Job Description

• Must have Robotic experience and First Assist experience to qualify as an RNFA and assist in the OR.
• Experience with Da Vinci robotic system, robotics in general, total joint replacements, spine, and plastics preferred.
• Free parking available.

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut.
• Minimum of 1 year of First Assist experience, including experience within the last year.
• Robotic surgery experience.
• Advanced certifications issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

Experience Requirements

• Must have Robotic surgery experience and First Assist experience in the OR.
• Preferred experience with Da Vinci robotic system, total joints, spine, and plastics surgeries.

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start.
• Fit mask test within 12 months, updated annually.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation.
• Annual TB questionnaire.
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Hepatitis B (or declination)
  • Varicella
  • Tdap (highly preferred for certain specialties)
• 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
• COVID vaccination preferred but not mandatory.

Background & History Requirements

• 7-year work history with no gaps greater than 90 days.
• Verification of employment for the last 7 years required.
• Skills checklist required within 12 months of start.
• Attestation of prior radiation exposure required for certain specialties/units.

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
