Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:5
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per month
- Holiday rotation: Yes
- Floating: May be required to float within scope to meet unit needs
- Unit Type: Medical Surgical unit with adult patients, including medical and some surgical cases
- First-time travelers accepted
- Locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Additional Information
- Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November), especially August and September
- Facility uses EPIC for charting
- Dress code: Solid royal blue or white top with royal blue bottoms for RNs
- Parking permits required (details provided upon hire)
- Orientation includes completion of online modules prior to start; failure to complete may result in being sent home
- Badge photo required before start date (passport-style, business casual attire)

- Candidates must submit all required documentation at time of application, including licensure, certifications, background checks, and health records
- Compliance with all facility-specific policies and procedures is mandatory
- Candidates with any licensure issues or background hits must be approved by the facility before assignment
