Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - CVICU
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Schedule: Every other weekend (6 weekends total during contract)
- Float: Required to float between multiple campuses as needed
- Holidays: As needed
- Patient Population: Medical Surgical Cardiac ICU patients including MI, CHF, cardiac surgeries, post cardiac cath, LVAD, Impella, IABP, Arctic Sun, renal failure CRRT, respiratory failure, sepsis, open heart surgical patients, AAA repair, vascular surgeries, ECMO
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, with CVICU experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- MAB (Medication Administration Badge)
Required Certifications
- Other certifications may be required based on unit specifics (check with recruiter or clinical lead)
Licensure
- Primary source license verification required within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification required within 60 days of start
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card
- Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Transcript/Diploma as applicable
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Qgold/TSPOT within 6 months)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
- Fit mask test (annual) with approved N95 respirators
- Physical exam (if applicable)
- References: 2 supervisory references required for clinical positions (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)
- Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
- Work history verification for last 5 years
Additional Notes
- Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Candidates must complete a mandatory questionnaire prior to offer
- Floating between campuses is mandatory for all travelers
- Individualized scheduling options available (e.g., blocked scheduling)
- Pass/fail EKG exam required regardless of specialty
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
- Candidates must review and sign floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement forms
- Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire)
Prior Travel Experience
- Not required; first-time travelers are accepted
This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity cardiac ICU setting with a diverse patient population and advanced cardiac care technologies. Candidates should be prepared for night shifts and floating between campuses.
