Job Description

• Weekend and holiday shifts are required.
• This is a backfill position.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas.
• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year.
• PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or ENPC.
• TNCC or TCAR certification.
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse in Emergency Room (ER).
• Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum standard for ER travel RN positions.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• I9 or attestation required.
• Valid government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, or passport).
• Background checks within 30 days of start, including 7-year criminal history and sex offender search.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
• Physical exam within 12 months of start.
• Negative TB test (TSpot or QGold) within 12 months; chest x-ray and TB questionnaire if positive.
• Drug screening (10-panel) within 30 days of start.
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titers with boosters if needed)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titers with boosters if needed)
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series and positive titer or signed declination form)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).
• Photo for badge (passport style, clear background).
• Completion of facility-specific forms including job description acknowledgment and security forms prior to start.
• Two professional references within the last 3 years required.

Additional Information

• Fit testing for masks completed onsite during orientation and updated annually.
• Candidates must pass competency exams with a minimum score of 80%.
• Candidates are allowed two attempts for required competency exams; a third attempt may be allowed with approval.
• Weekend and holiday availability is mandatory.

This position is ideal for experienced ER Registered Nurses seeking a travel contract in Texas with a 13-week commitment.
