Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist

Location: Murrells Inlet, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Shift: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (0700-1530 or 0730-1600)
• Types of Cases: Any
• On-call: No
• Weekend Requirement: No
• Floating: No floating between service lines or sister facilities

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiation Therapist license in South Carolina
• Radiation Therapist certification (ARRT (T))
• Radiation Therapist experience within the last year (0 years of experience accepted)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Schedule & Work Environment

• Facility allows block scheduling accommodations
• Locals accepted; no local radius restrictions
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Preferred scrub color: Blue (any color accepted)
• Charting system: Aria
• Parking: Free, on-site

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Proof of work eligibility (I-9 attestation and completed form)
• Copy of Driver’s License/State ID
• Copy of Social Security Card or SSN verification
• Background checks including:

  • SSN Trace
  • County and state criminal checks (including South Carolina statewide)
  • Sex offender registry
  • National criminal background
  • FACIS 3 and international searches if applicable
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Education verification or diploma/transcripts as placeholder
• State-specific Medicaid excluded provider search
• Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Fit test for N95 masks (specific models required) within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer or vaccination)
  • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • COVID vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Complete employment application/resume
• Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
• Radiation badge process must be completed before starting patient care; badges may take 5-7 days to arrive
• Clear, passport-style photo for badge required prior to start

Additional Notes

• Candidates without a South Carolina license may pursue a temporary "walk-through" license process if eligible
• Candidates with any background hits may not be eligible for temporary licensure
• Radiation badge is mandatory for all Radiology/Cardiology travelers in this role
• Facility is a Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, and Magnet Hospital with 820 staffed beds

This position is suitable for new graduates or those with no prior experience in radiation therapy, with full support for licensure and credentialing processes.
