Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Location: Kingman, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Orientation: Every Monday
• Charting system: Meditech preferred but not required
• Scheduling: Blocked scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Float: May be required to float to other medical-surgical units
• Weekend shifts: Every other weekend
• Patient ratio: 1:5-6
• Telemetry experience required due to potential for remote telemetry monitoring
• Locals and first-time travelers accepted at the same rate

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
• Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) certification
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background checks including 7-year search, education verification, and annual federal screenings required
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella required as applicable
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• 2 professional references within 3 years required
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as applicable
• PALS and NRP as applicable

Additional Information

• Must complete facility-specific forms and training related to security, confidentiality, behavioral expectations, HIPAA, and information security
• Clear, passport-style photo with solid background required for badge
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests required as applicable

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
• Float assignments may be required to other medical-surgical units.
• Blocked scheduling is not guaranteed.
• Weekend shifts are every other weekend.
