Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Home Health
Location: Kennewick, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide physical therapy services in a home health setting with home visits and periodic office meetings.
- Average caseload: 5-6 patients per day.
- Types of cases: Start of Care and Follow Ups.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, typically 8 AM to 5 PM. Some shifts may be 4x10s (Friday-Monday), but most are standard 5x8.
- Weekend rotation: Generally no weekend work; varies by location and should be discussed during interview.
- On-call: Not required for this position.
- Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from the home clinic, averaging about 100 miles per week between patient visits.
- Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate (patient-to-patient travel only).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Washington.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist within the last year.
- Experience working with adult patients.
- Experience in a home health setting.
- Current BLS certification.
Additional Requirements
- Must complete standard background checks including:
- 7-year work and residence history verification.
- State-specific criminal background and sex offender registry checks.
- Drug screening (10-panel).
- Fingerprinting as required by state regulations.
- Health documentation required:
- Physical exam within 12 months confirming good health and no communicable diseases.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
- Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
- Flu vaccination or documented declination.
- COVID-19 vaccination or documented declination.
- Must review and sign various compliance, confidentiality, and policy documents prior to start.
- Two professional references required.
- Verification of at least two most recent employers or last 7 years of work history.
Notes
- Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers.
- Weekend and on-call requirements may vary by location; discuss during interview.
- Contract length is 13 weeks.
- EMR system used: Homecare Homebase (HCHB).
This position is ideal for experienced physical therapists with recent home health experience who are comfortable with travel and working independently in patient homes.
