Description
Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 18 weeks
Unit Details
- Specialty areas include Cardiovascular/Thoracic, Transplant & Robotics (Thoracic preferred)
- Floating within facility/scope of practice and to Main OR as needed
- Weekend and call requirements:
- Call 1 day a week
- 1 weekend every ~4 weeks (subject to change)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Surgical Services specialty
- First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CVOR Technologist, with at least some experience within the last year
- Must hold a valid State of Georgia license appropriate for CVOR Tech role
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- Other certifications may be required based on unit description (refer to clinical specialty requirements)
Compliance & Screening
- Full compliance with all credentialing and onboarding requirements is mandatory to start on time
- Clinical screening will be conducted to determine clinical fit before final approval
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
- Physical exam required within 12 months of start
- Annual Nursys verification (if applicable) within 30 days prior to start
- Color blindness testing required
- Competency exams required for nursing and allied health professionals (including medication and dysrhythmia/EKG competency)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months of start (additional testing may be required for privileging specialties)
- TB questionnaire required annually
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or documentation of immunity for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer or signed declination)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (highly recommended)
- Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
Work Expectations
- Return to work (RTO) maximum of 7 days if off assignment
- Holiday work expectations:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
- If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
- If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work 2 of them
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
Additional Notes
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
- Dress and professional appearance policies must be reviewed and followed
- Code of conduct acknowledgment required prior to start

This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized surgical services environment with a focus on cardiovascular and thoracic procedures. Candidates should be prepared for call and weekend responsibilities and meet all compliance and credentialing requirements to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
