Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Home Health

Location: Newport News, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide physical therapy services in a home health setting.
• Must have a minimum of 1 year recent home health experience.
• Proficiency in OASIS documentation required.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Local candidates are eligible at the same rate.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license for Virginia.
• Minimum 1 year of recent home health physical therapy experience.
• Proficient in OASIS documentation.
• Valid and current driver’s license required (minimum 3 years driving experience; minimum age 21, 25 if transporting patients).
• Must pass a 7-year criminal background check, including all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
• Must meet all state and facility-specific background and screening requirements.
• Must provide proof of required immunizations and health screenings, including but not limited to:

  • TB testing or clearance
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B series or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or history
  • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (medical/religious exemptions require approval)
  • COVID vaccination series preferred
• Drug screening within the last 12 months.
• Physical exam within the last 12 months.
• Must complete facility-specific documents and policies prior to start, including confidentiality agreements, dress code, safety brochures, and hand hygiene policies.
• Must provide 2 professional references.
• Application/resume required.

Additional Requirements

• Must complete competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable.
• Must complete orientation and pass any required pass/fail testing.
• Photo for badge must meet facility standards.
• Must comply with all facility-specific policies and procedures.

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• No call responsibilities.
• This is a travel contract position with a 13-week duration.
