Location: Largo, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 20 weeks

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for home health visits. The role involves providing skilled therapy to adult patients with a variety of conditions including medical/surgical, cardiac, orthopedic, neurological, respiratory, trauma, and post-surgical cases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Adult Occupational Therapy focusing on activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Cardiac rehabilitation
• Edema massage
• Feeding techniques
• Splinting
• Use of modalities such as TENS and ultrasound
• Orthopedic and prosthetics/orthotics care
• Standardized assessments and joint mobilization
• Developing and instructing home exercise programs
• Patient and family education on safety and injury prevention
• Documentation and billing
• Conducting 6-8 home visits per day (minimum 6 points per day, adjustable)

Patient Population:

• Med/surg, cardiac, ortho (hips/knees/shoulders)
• Post-surgical patients
• COPD, CHF, pneumonia
• Stroke (CVA), falls, weakness, Parkinson’s disease
• Failure to thrive, respiratory patients, neuro, tracheostomy care
• Trauma, above/below knee amputations (AKA, BKA)
• Activities of daily living support

Required Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapist license in Florida
• Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
• Minimum 1 year of home health experience
• Must be an independent practitioner
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience in Adult Occupational Therapy
• Experience in cardiac rehabilitation
• Experience with edema massage
• Experience with splinting
• Experience using TENS and ultrasound modalities
• Experience with prosthetics and orthotics care
• Experience with joint mobilization
• OASIS training

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including education verification and criminal history
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start
• Physical exam within 6 months of start date
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 10 weeks of start (or as required)
• Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
• Drug screening (standard 9 panel) within 30 days of start
• Annual TB questionnaire completion
• Respirator medical clearance if applicable
• Required training modules and account registration must be completed prior to start
• Professional photo for badge required before start
• Personal or auto insurance must be current and active during assignment

Additional Information

• Scrubs: Any solid color scrub is acceptable
• Candidates must be able to work independently in a home health setting
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
