Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech
Location: Lansing, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work schedule: 72 hours per pay period, typically 5 or 4 shifts of 8 hours each
- Variable start times (7:00 AM, 7:30 AM, 8:00 AM)
- Every third weekend rotation required
- No on-call or floating duties
- Fast-paced department supporting Emergency Department and inpatient units
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Surgery experience preferred
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an X-Ray Technician within the last year
- Current Michigan state license required
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association or equivalent
- AART (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
Additional Requirements
- Must provide:
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID
- Social Security Card
- Evidence of background checks including criminal history and education verification
- Physical exam within 12 months required (must note latex sensitivity)
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity verification
- Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity verification
- Varicella immunity verification
- 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season
- Competency exams and unit-specific training required
- Orientation and facility-specific modules to be completed onsite
Work Environment
- Short Term Acute Care facility
- Magnet recognized, teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma designation
- Charting system: Epic
- Free parking with badge
