Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Saratoga Springs, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• Additional: Every 6th Sunday, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• Local Travel Rule: Must live outside a 50-mile radius and not reside in specified counties around Albany, NY.

Required Qualifications

• Echo Technologist with a minimum of 4 years of experience
• Echo Technologist experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Certifications & Competencies

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, preferably from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification recommended (facility-specific requirements may apply)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
• Successful completion of advanced EKG/ECG competency exam within 72 hours of contract signing (90% passing score required; 3 attempts max)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Color Blindness test preferred
• NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on unit assignment

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold) within 1 year of start
• Up-to-date immunizations or titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
• 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (facility may require updated screen if expiring during contract)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required prior to start
• Fit test for N95 mask (3M 1870 quantitative test required if done externally)
• Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training (New York State requirement for RNs and LPNs)

Additional Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks including 7-year history, sex offender registry, and federal exclusions (updated annually)
• Facility-specific documents such as photo for badge, lift assessment (typically 25 lbs), and various facility orientation modules must be completed prior to start
• References: 2 professional references required for travel/allied/per diem acute care roles
